Challenge #4
Since this is the start of a new year, this challenge will be to set your own goals! Of course we can all make large or ambitious goals, remember that small and/or short goals are also good!
I don't really make resolutions anymore because I never keep them. Then I saw someone on Tumblr say that resolutions don't have to be big and serious, they can be small and silly.
So, I decided to make a couple of resolutions.
The first one is to watch at least one of the over 400 DVDs I own a week and post a review of it. I've already done that once (along with a couple of movies off Netflix) and posted the review on TikTok (if the app does go away, I'll post here and probably on Tumblr).
The second one is to make my bed every day. I have yet to do this because I have gotten it into my head that I need to change the sheets first (I really do it's been a while) and before I do that I need to clean my room (don't want dust on my clean sheets!). I had planned to clean my room over the weekend but I had a really rough week last week that bled into the weekend, plus I think I have a cold.
The third one is to get dressed each day. I work from home so tend to stay in my sleep clothes (tee shirt and leggings/sleep pants in the summer and sweats when it's cold). I need to go through my closet and get rid of clothes that no longer fit and the best way I can think of is to get dressed each day as if I have to go into the office. But I haven't done this either.
I know it sounds like an excuse but I'm still recovering from my horrible week last week and my back has been killing me this week. I'm taking things slow and hoping I can start this on Monday (I plan on cleaning my room this weekend).

Date: 2025-01-14 05:59 pm (UTC)This has been one of my goal-tasks for a couple of years now, and I find that it really helps the mental weasels for me. It's a visual and physical checkmark, something done. All I really do is smooth out the sheets and tug the bedspread(s) up into place, then neaten the pillows. Nothing elaborate or fancy, but the reduction of visible "mess" really satisfies me, and it's very much an "okay, your day is starting" marker.
