My daughter and SIL are in Orlando this week for their annual Disney World trip.

I called my mother Wednesday evening to tell her about something and she asked why my daughter hadn't been texting/calling since the results were announced. Stupid me told her that my daughter wasn't angry with her but she needed some space to grieve. My mother went off on one of her tangents about how it breaks her heart that her children/grandchildren don't worship God the same way she does (not in these words, mind you). Never mind that the church teaches that everyone's relationship with God/Jesus is personal to them.

Despite my best efforts, the conversation became political. I kept telling her that I didn't want to discuss why I voted the way I did and why I feel betrayed by the way she voted, but she just kept at it.

She had sent my daughter this text (I am leaving all errors):

Sweetheart 's I just think I need to let you know that even though the vote is not the outcome y'all wanted. I love you both. Respect your choices. I do pray for your relationship with God. But I want you to know that we will not hold this over you are [or] flaunt the outcome in your face. Please know this comes from my heart [red heart, blue heart]. May we always be united as a family

I want to know why she thought it was a good idea to send that to my daughter? If Harris had won, we would not have said anything like this to her and that's part of the problem. She doesn't understand that we are not the same.

We want everyone to be equal. He wants anyone who isn't a Christian rich cis straight white man to disappear.

I also found out today that he only won because his side cheated. How do I know? I went online and checked to see if my vote had been counted. My record shows no voter history. Since this was my first time voting in this county, I wasn't expecting anything other than this election.

I told my daughter and she said that both her and SIL are the same.

It's true what they say, accusations are always projections. The other side keeps accusing us of cheating because they are cheating/have cheated.
