Challenge #3
In your own space, put some favorite characters into an AU, fuse some favorite canons together, talk about your favorite AU/fusion tropes, or tell us why AU/fusions aren’t your cup of tea.
I actually like it all. So long as the characters are recognizable I don't mind seeing them in different worlds.
Most of my stories are as canon compliant as possible. That usually means that the only difference is who I've paired together. I have one story (Rogue) where I ignored a major plot point because I found it to be stupid. I have onestory series (This So Called Life) where I changed the gender of one of the main characters. I am also working on a Teen Wolf story that is completely AU (everyone is human and in high school together).
I feel like you can learn a lot about the canon and characters by writing/reading them in a world that is different from the one they normally inhabit.

And yes, putting them in other situations/worlds or interacting with characters from other canon can really make you think thinky thoughts about the original canon or characters.
