Years ago, back when my dad was doing my taxes, it was discovered that somehow my birth date was entered incorrectly. My actual birthday is 7/5 but somehow it was now showing as 7/15. If you've ever had your taxes done, or done them yourself, in the US, you know that your birth date on your SSN must match the birth date entered when filling out the forms or the IRS will kick it back.

Up until this year, I would just put in 7/15 (don't have a reason for not getting it fixed). I am looking into changing my last name and will need to update everything, so I decided to find out if my birth date was wrong with Turbo Tax or on my SSN.

After making a new account with Turbo Tax, I was able to make sure they have my correct birth date. I should have known something was wrong when I didn't get an email saying my taxes had been approved from the IRS within a couple of days (usually the very next day).

One day last week (a week after I filed), I received an email stating my taxes had been rejected because of my birth date.

I started looking into how to fix it. Turns out there is only one way: go into the office to present a birth certificate and photo ID. But I have to make an appointment.

I called Monday and when I heard the wait time was 120 minutes (two hours), I hung up. Mondays are my busiest days at work and I didn't have time for that. And I didn't feel like doing it when I got off.

Yesterday, I decided to just sit on hold since I didn't have as much to do. I hung up after waiting for three hours!

I had planned to call at 8 this morning (when they open), hoping the wait won't be as long but 9 came around and I realized I had forgotten. Oops.

Hopefully, I can remember to do this tomorrow because I want to get this sorted now. I have never once come even close to missing the April 15 deadline and refuse to let this be the first.

Also, while on hold yesterday, I had thought of a memory I wanted to share, but didn't want to stop working and type it up. And, of course, now I have forgotten what it was!

I managed to sleep in my bed for almost four hours last night. I did not take a shower, I wasn't able to fall asleep for my post sleep nap until after 3, and woke up feeling really groggy.

I did not take my blood pressure but my glucose was 110.
