Jan. 28th, 2025 07:18 amI wasn't sure I was going to write a post this morning, but while showering just now, I decided I want to.
Man, menopause is kicking my butt. This insomnia is no joke.
I fell asleep while watching Kids Baking Championship and then again during The Big Bang Theory.
The reason I did not go to bed when I woke up after Kids Baking is because I somehow forgot to take my morning meds yesterday. And it's not like they're still in the bottles from the pharmacy or in a medicine cabinet. I have them sorted into a 31 day pill organizer that sits on my bathroom counter right next to the sink I use.
I did not notice this until just before 5 last night. I have one pill that I take twice a day and it really should not be taken too close to the previous dose. I prefer to take them at least twelve hours apart but felt five was good enough so needed to stay up until at least 10.
And that's why I didn't go to bed when I woke up after Kids Baking. Falling asleep during TBBT was not planned; it was totally accidental.
And this menopause induced insomnia is why when I woke up after 10, I didn't go to bed. I was wide awake at that point.
So, I sat down and watched the episodes I had slept through. Normally, I wouldn't have bothered, but I'm doing a complete rewatch, which means I had to go back to watch them. I watched a few more and around 2 decided I was sleepy enough that I could put on something I don't mind sleeping through. Again, I felt that I might not be able to sleep in the bed, and my alarm is set for 6, so I just slept on the couch.
I almost didn't take a shower today but around 7, decided I should. I really don't know why I can't make myself take one every day because I feel so much better after I do.
I did not take my blood pressure but my glucose was 114.
