Nov. 17th, 2015 08:47 pmSo it's been an interesting few months.
I had two bad things happen on the same day: I got fired from my great job and my Windows Surface died.
Luckily I am still on housing assistance so I've had my rent covered. I also found out that I qualify for unemployment for Lori's.
As for my Surface, I have about two months of work on two or three stories plus one or two new ones that managed to not get backed up on my external hard drive during the last back up. *pout*
I've been looking for a new job for a couple of weeks and have had three interviews already. One on Thursday with a placement agency, they sent me on an interview yesterday and the third with another placement agency, they have me going to a temp to hire job starting tomorrow.
When Cottonwood fired me they paid me the 40 hours I had worked, the five hours of overtime I had worked, two hours for showing up the day they fired me (my supervisor met me when I got off the elevator) plus two weeks in lieu of notice. I still had over $400 left from my last paycheck (the Friday before they fired me) so added to what they paid me I had nearly $2000 to tide me over.
Since I'll be starting a new job tomorrow I went and bought myself a new laptop. I couldn't find the one I wanted so I got an Android NextBook. It'll do until I can get myself an actual laptop.
I'm really hoping this job lasts because I hate interviewing and am really looking for the job I will retire from. Plus, I really want to go to SGA Squee Weekend in October.
