logans_girl2001I wasn't going to rant about this but I just came across a line that I cannot allow to pass without comment.
I've been reading this series of stories set in this small fictional town. The world building is awesome. I wouldn't mind living there except for a few things.
1) Every man that lives in the town is HUGE. By that I mean there isn't a single man who is under six feet. And they all have dicks that are at least nine inches long and three inches around.
2) Most couples are two gay men. In fact out of the twenty-one stories I've read so far only four stories haven't featured two men in a romantic relationship. Although, to be fair, there are other couples in the town that are not gay.
3) Spending any kind of time with The Gay (what I'm calling it instead of The One because it only happens with the gay couples) will make you realize that you are not actually as straight as you thought.
The rest of these are ranting about the author's writing/the stories themselves.
1) The four stories that do not feature two gay mean are: a married couple and another man, an engaged couple and another woman, a middle aged woman and her ex-husband's son from a previous relationship (they didn't know the boy existed until after his mother died), and two women.
2) The reason for this rant is this (copied directly from the story in question): If a man, even a man [character name] wanted to sleep with, laid hands on her flesh without an invitation, he might wake up with fewer teeth than he'd begun the day with. [other character's name] had seen the woman punch and she most definitely did not hit like a girl.
But because [other character's name] was a woman, even a confessed gay woman, she could place her hands on [character name]'s torso, even if she had to burrow under the other woman's far too practical sleep shirt.
I don't care who you are, if I do not give you express permission to touch me, you cannot touch me! My body, my rules. If I've already told you no, you had best except it. I think my main issue with this passage is that basically [other character's name] raped [character name] and then they were in a relationship. No, that's not how it works!
3) It's obvious this author wrote these stories for masturbatory purposes because every story (except the het and lesbian ones) has very detailed sex scenes.
4) Every couple has one taller than the other. Seriously it's like the author doesn't think people who are the same height fall in love with each other.
4a) The author also sometimes has trouble remembering which character is the taller of the two. In one story the man who, up until this point was described as the shorter of the two, was comforting his partner and he tucked the other man's head under his chin. I would have given them the benefit of the doubt and just said that the taller man had his knees bent so that he could cuddle better while standing except they called the taller one the shorter one in that scene and then in the next scene (after mind blowing sex) he was the taller one again.
5) No one ever has 'okay' sex. It's always earth shattering and leaves the people involved exhausted. Even when it's first time sex. Again, that's not how it works!
5a) Everyone has sex multiple times a day. Even middle aged men can get it up again after just a few hours of rest. NOT HOW THAT SHIT WORKS!!!!!
