Today my daughter texted me just before 1 to tell me she was about to start watching SPN. As in the pilot episode. What follows is the conversation we had while she watched it (I've kept all typos and whatnot):
MD=my daughter
ME=well, me!
ME: Okay. Enjoy
MD: Yeah. Okay. From what I know about it my heart is gonna be ripped out if my chest multiple times during the first episode..
ME: Starting with the first ten minutes.
MD: That's so much worse... Why?
ME: To explain the boys' pain.
MD: BABY SAM
MD: WHY DO THEY HATE US
ME: Told you. *I think this was in reference to Mary's death*
MD: I knew it was going to happen but whyyyyyyy. This shit is almost as bad as Teen Wolf. No actually it IS worse..
MD: I called it. I said he was gonna die and he just did. I totally called it
ME: Who died? *Haven't seen it in years so can't remember*
MD: Some random dude.
ME: Yeah. Sam and Dean leave a lot of dead bodies in their wake.
MD: They didn't kill him tho.. Some chick did.
ME: Let me put it this way: several seasons from now a monster tells them that when they're children their parents use the threat of the Winchesters to get them to behave. *I could be wrong about this*
ME: Didn't say they do all the killing.
MD: Hmm. Interesting.
MD: True.
MD: Does Jared really have a lisp? *I've never noticed*
ME: If you're hearing one then it's probably a small one.
MD: Waaait. What year is it?? He was born in 79 and he's 26 now.. That's weird..
ME: The show has been on for almost ten years.
MD: So its early 2000's..
ME: Yeah. 2004 or 2005.
MD: Why do
MD: They
MD: Us
MD: No
MD: That’s
MD: Not
MD: Okay
MD: Hate
ME: Laughing my ass off at you.
ME: Just wait until the first time one of them dies.
MD: I know all this stuff happens! Its not like I'm going in blind.....
ME: But seeing Jared and Jensen acting it and knowing it's gonna happen are two different things.
MD: That's not okay... What is wrong with the writers??? I mean really... Do they have issues that need to be addressed????
ME: Just wait. It gets worse.
MD: Oh joy..
MD: Can't wait...
I haven't seen the pilot is a while so I don't remember the ending and so don't really know why she reacted that way at the end. Although since it is SPN I can guess…

I know I've made this request before but this time I'm in dire straits. This morning my beta told me that she is no longer interested in the fandoms I write and so cannot, or rather will not, edit my stories any more.
I am a writer. That means I cannot not write and despite having very little in the way of confidence in my writing I love posting and seeing what others think of my work.
That being said, I simply cannot - will not - post anything that is not edited and I suck at grammar. I abuse commas left and right and sometimes I just cannot find the right words to say what I want to say.
I need a beta who can help me keep the commas in line and who can also help me make the story the best it can be. I can take constructive criticism. In fact I want someone who will tell me what works and what doesn't, and why. I also want someone who will be okay with letting me send them snippets as I write them, I really need to know if I'm on the right path.
So, if you think you can be the beta I need, please drop me a line.

Oh, guess I should tell you the fandoms. I currently have three stories going: two in the Hawaii Five-0 fandom and one in the Stargate Atlantis fandom.
The H50 stories are: a future fic with Grace and an OMC and an AU where Danny was born female.
The SGA story is for a friend and features Evan Lorne and an OFC (the person it's being written for invented her).
