How not to spoil the ending of your movie

Don't cast C. Thomas Howell as the bad guy.
Seriously, he's played the bad guy so often recently that as soon as he appeared on screen in An Amish Murder, a made-for-TV movie that was on Lifetime last night, I knew he was the bad guy. Didn't stop me from enjoying it, though. Just would have been much better if I didn't know who the bad guy was from five minutes into the movie. *sigh* Oh, well. It was still a good movie.
