I'm going to actually write about my new job and then I'll explain the meaning of the title.

So far I really only know one part of my job: matching RCOs (printouts of the stores' sales for any given day) to the deposit slips. Right now I can do, on average, four an hour. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on if there are any issues. But there is one thing I can't do right now: I can't print the audit report. It's necessary for matching RCOs. Luckily others can print it for me.

IT has been trying to fix the issue all week and today they figured out what the issue is. Unfortunately that means they have to build me another computer. Hopefully I'll have this new computer when I get to work tomorrow.

And now for the meaning of the title.

We're allowed to work nine hours four days a week and four on the fifth. Starting next week my schedule will be 7-4:30. This week due to training, with the exception of Monday and Tuesday, I've been going in at 7:30.

Now you'd think that means I'd get off at 5, right? Since going in at 7:30 and working 8 hours has you getting off at 4, right? But apparently not. According to the time clock I've only worked 8 1/2 hours the last two days (as in 8 1/2 each day). I noticed it when I clocked out today, and then remembered Jenise telling me that coming in at 7:30 and working nine hours means you get off at 5:30. How does that make sense? That's ten hours. I...just...*shrug* Now I have to make up an hour on Friday because I don't have room in my schedule to do it tomorrow.
