I did it!

Sort of.

After the no sleeping thing Thursday, my whole weekend was messed up. I totally planned to clean my room yesterday, but I slept on the couch and didn't wake up until 7. I wasn't in the best mood so decided to just become one with my couch.

I actually slept in the bed last night (made it four hours) but then had difficulty falling back asleep on the couch. I watched the final two episodes of Worst Cooks for this season and a whole episode of Hawaii Five-O. At that point, I changed my alarm to 7 and turned on a video of ocean waves (although it doesn't really sound like waves?) and got a couple more hours.

I am so not in the mood for anything today (especially not working ten hours, but OT, so). I did not walk or shower (did wipe myself down, though). And despite not cleaning my room, or changing the sheets, I made my bed this morning! So, one step closer to getting started on those goals for this year.

I have made a decision and I'm posting it here to hold myself accountable.

If I have another morning like I had this morning, I will get up and put on my workout clothes and walk on my treadmill instead of using it as an excuse to not walk.

I'm hoping if I can manage to do this, then I will feel up to cleaning my room Friday night after work. And by that I mean I will clock out, go sit on the couch to watch one show, then get up and dust the ceiling fan and get started dusting the rest of the furniture. That way if I need to stop, then I can and will have gotten quite a bit done. And I'll keep doing this until I have cleaned it all, included vacuuming and mopping the floor (I have LVP throughout my unit and I love it).

I'm also going to start sleeping in the bed Friday and Saturday nights so I'll feel up to cleaning on Sundays.

To that end, this week I need to clean the bathroom. I think I'll start Saturday afternoon/early evening. The plan is to clean the counter/sinks, mirrors (the washer/dryer closet has mirrored doors), and either the tub or the toilet. Then Sunday will be the shower, either the tub or toilet (whichever one doesn't get done Saturday), vacuum/mop the floor, and wash the bath mats. Then next weekend, I'll clean the living room and kitchen, including vacuuming/mopping. After all that I will be able to (hopefully) maintain my cleaning once a week with changing my sheets once a month because I only have two sets of sheets and I refuse to wash sheets every week or two.

I know I can buy a couple more sets but I haven't decided if I want to change the color of my bedding. And I'm the type of person who prefers their sheets to match their comforter/pillow shams.
