Day 3

In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing?

This one is hard for me because I don't think about my creative process.

Lots of different things inspire me. From songs to scenes in the source material. But most of my writing seems to come from nowhere. I'll either get the opening scene or a scene from somewhere in the middle; once even the very end scene.

Some stories flow very easily, some have to be pulled out word by word. I've only written one story that left me not wanting to write ever again (the prompt wasn't something that came easy to me). A feeling that, luckily, didn't last long.

My process has changed over the years. When I started writing I wrote the story in order, even if a future scene came to me before I got to it. Now I write what my muse tells me to; even if it is out of order.

I've had betas tell me that I should make an outline before I start writing but that has never worked for me (not in school and definitely not when writing for myself). I'd say that because of that my stories don't always end up the way I thought they would when I start. But that, in my opinion, is a very good thing because sometimes that makes for a much better story.
