Nov. 22nd, 2013 11:25 amI’m breaking my self-imposed exile to ask for some assistance.
I’m hoping someone can tell me what I need to know about the Affordable Care Act. Normally I’d go to my dad for these types of questions but since we disagree on the politics behind this I can’t trust what he’d tell me. For the record, my mother is trying to convince me that my premiums will go up nearly double (or more) because of it and I’m sure she got that from my dad because she’s not the type to read a political article or watch a news story about it.
My main question is: Can I drop my employer provided health care which currently costs me over $100 A PAYCHECK and sign up for something cheaper? Or is it just for people who don’t qualify for employer provided health care?
My next question is: Is what my mother’s trying to tell me (see above) true?
And finally: Are well-woman check-ups free? Is prescription birth control?
Please help me. If I can drop my expensive health coverage and find something just as good but cheaper I’d like to.
Thank you.
