Got some things to talk about and it's kinda long so they're behind the cut.
I decided to get a rental car so I'm not relying on my parents for transportation to the many places I have to go. Only problem was that the only rental place open by the time I decided on this is at the airport.
My mother came and got me around 7:30. We got to the airport about 8. And stood in line. And stood in line. And stood in line. When we got to the counter the guy told me I could have a sedan, a Mustang, a pick-up truck, a Jeep or something else. I chose the sedan because it is most likely the least expensive choice.
We go outside to the garage/parking lot and find the stall where my car is parked... and find a black KIA Rio. With sixty-four miles on it.
I drove around the building to take Mom back to her car and then she followed me on the way home. Now, keep in mind that my mother has a GPS. And I don't. There is construction to improve the road in and out of the airport. Because of that we kinda got lost leaving, turns out you have to circle back around, re-enter the airport, make a u-turn and then exit. At this point Mom and I got separated by other cars exiting the airport. Once I realized that I called her to tell her to follow the signs for 121. But I was too late, she had already taken the wrong exit. I told her to just follow the GPS, it would get her home.
I got home around 9 and she called to tell me she was lost. There wasn't anything I could do to help and suggested she call Dad. She said she'd already done that but had no clue where she was.
I haven't been able to talk to her today so I have no idea where she was or what time she got home.
I'm still learning my job and as such am very slow. This means I had to work overtime Monday and Tuesday. I worked ten hours Monday and ten and a half hours on Tuesday.
When I went to work today I was thinking about asking to take off tomorrow to deal with my car but decided against it because I kinda need the extra money.
I'd been at work for a couple of hours when I got an email from my manager saying I have to leave early due to the overtime. My first thought was 'Damnit! I need that money!' and then I realized that means I can take tomorrow off.
So I email Chasta and ask if I can have tomorrow off, citing the issue with my car (but describing it as a minor personal emergency). A short time later I come back from filing to be told by a co-worker that Chasta is looking for me. I go to her office and she tells me I can have the day but it's not to become a regular thing. I stress that I only asked because she said I couldn't keep the overtime.
At first I was confused because she told me I couldn't keep the overtime and I have enough to take the day (I work flex hours which means four nine hour days and one four hour day). And then I realize her comment is because of how I phrased the request.
So, yeah. That's what's going on so far with the car. On the bright side, I'm totally caught up at work. Well, maybe not totally caught up sine I still have to verify the deposit slips and put the RCOs in order but I have time next week for that.
