Snowflake Challenge Day One
Challenge #1
Update your fandom information. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have a master post here with a list of my fic. It needs to be updated, though. Or you can go here for a complete list.
I've been in fandom, more or less, since I was a young kid. My brother would read X-men comics and let me read them once he was done but it was never a regular thing. I also watched the X-men cartoon on occasion and so I claim X-men as my first fandom.
I used to make up stories based on things I was interested in. A favorite was putting myself in the main character role on Airwolf (I did not replace Stringfellow Hawke, I was his love interest (had a huge crush on Jan-Michael Vincent)). I also put myself as the main character in The Black Stallion series (here I did replace Alec).
I tried writing a book when I was a senior in high school but my teacher tore it to shreds and I lost interest in writing anything until I saw the first X-men movie and started looking for stories in the X-men fandom.
At the same time, I started watching The Invisible Man and Farscape on Sci-Fi Channel and became active in both of those fandoms and on the bulletin boards. It was the first time I was actually active in a fandom.
In 2001, I started writing my first fic, which is no longer posted anywhere because I do not like it. At all. But I am in the process of rewriting it because I do like the plot.
In 2005, I wrote my first slash fic in the CSI: Miami fandom. And according to AO3, I have since written 87 fics. 88 if you count the one I wrote for
fandomtrees which won't be available to read until January 11th.
According to AO3, I wrote 107,387 words in 2023. I posted eight new stories, a couple I shouldn't have because they're set in the future of a series I'm still working on but I wasn't thinking and went on a posting spree. And several are still in progress, I'm hoping to finish at least two of them this year.
Feel free to friend me here, or over on my writing blog. Just be advised that I am not here that often. I do have a Tumblr (same user name), but I'm mostly over on TikTok (same user name).
