Snowflake Challenge Day One

Well, it's that time of year again. Fandom Snowflake Challenge has officially started! And as usual, the first challenge is to make an introduction post.

In years past, I have talked exclusively about my fannish history. So, this year I thought to talk a little more about...me. ;-P

When not doing fannish things, I do data entry for a gasoline distribution company. When the pandemic hit, we were given the necessary equipment to set up a home office. After a very rough start where my wi-fi refused to play nice with the VPN, I have come to love it.

I have a grown daughter who is way too much like me. When not working, I try to write (my muse seems to love teasing me at times when I can't write) and watch TV.

Feel free to friend me here or on Tumblr (same username). But be warned, I'm not in either place much. I do have a TikTok (same username) that I started posting about my weight loss journey on before realizing I didn't want to do that. I now post updates when there is news, usually after a doctor's appointment.

Below are my fandoms with pairings. The ones I write in are bolded (my fics can be found here).
Stargate SG-1: Daniel/Jack, Cam/Teal'c (I have one Jack/Daniel story)
Stargate Atlantis: John/Rodney/Ronon/Lorne/Radek/Carson (I mostly write John/Rodney, Rodney/Ronon, and Lorne/OFC but I do have one story with John/Rodney/Lorne and one with John/Ronon/Rodney/Lorne)
CSI: Miami: Eric/Ryan/Horatio/Speed, Eric/Calleigh (I write mostly Horatio/Speed but have one Horatio/Ryan, one Horatio/Speed/Ryan (with a sequel in the works), one Speed/Eric/Horatio in the works, and have Ryan/Calleigh as a background pairing in another story)
CSI: Greg/Warrick/Gil/Nick
Farscape: D'Argo/Crichton, D'Argo/Chiana, Crichton/Aeryn
CSI: NY: Flack/Danny/Mac/Adam (I have a Danny/OFC in the works)
The Invisible Man (2000 Sci-Fi series): Darien/Bobby, Bobby/Claire
Hawaii Five-0: Steve/Danny/Catherine/Chin/Kono (I only write Steve/Danny)
Three Rivers: Andy/Ryan
Dark Blue: Carter/Dean
Teen Wolf: Derek/Stiles, Scott/Allison, Stiles/Lydia, Lydia/Parrish (I only write Stiles/Derek but I might try my hand at Lydia/Parrish one day)

My bestie started watching the SGs and I never realized how much of it I had gained through fandom osmosis. I kept saying to myself "When are McKay/Shepard going to show up?" 🤣🤣🤣

I, personally, don't read tags because I feel like they can spoil a fic. If I come across something I don't like, I have to decide if it's worth continuing or not (and that comes down to if I'm invested in the plot and if the writing is, imo, good or bad). But I tend to tag for everything I think might be triggering because that's partly how I lost my last beta.
