Snowflake Challenge Day Eleven
Day 11
In your own space, talk about your creative process(es) — anything from the initial inspiration to how you feel after something’s done. Do you struggle with motivation or is it a smooth process? Do you have any tricks up your sleeve to pull out when a fanwork isn’t cooperating? What is your level of planning to pantsing/winging it?
Most of my ideas tend to just come to me. They're usually vague and I will play around with the different fandoms I write in to see if one is a fit for the scene. I can usually find one but when I can't, they go into my 'original' file where I collect ideas for a professional book.
Sometimes I hate the process, mainly the times when it feels like the story is fighting me or I feel like it's just not coming together the way I want it to. With my job and my tiny apartment (I do not have a proper place to sit and write) motivation can be difficult.
But that doesn't mean it's never smooth because I have several fics I've written in just a matter of hours.
I wish I had a sure fire way to get words on paper when I seem to be at a loss for motivation but I don't.
My favorite part of the process is when a story is finished and I can finally post it. Although the waiting for responses can be maddening.
I hardly ever plan a story, at least not on paper. During the process, I will think about it constantly. Sometimes the path I write follows that from my musings but mostly it does not. When I can, I do handwrite a scene or two during my lunch at work and even that ends up different once typed up.
